The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions - Fighting for Workers' Rights Since 1981
To organize, represent, and empower workers in Zimbabwe through collective action, advocacy, and social justice.
A Zimbabwe where all workers enjoy decent work, fair wages, safe working conditions, and social justice.
The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) was founded in 1981, emerging from the struggle for independence and the need to protect workers' rights in the new Zimbabwe.
Over the past four decades, ZCTU has grown to become the largest trade union federation in Zimbabwe, representing workers across all sectors of the economy including manufacturing, health, education, public service, commerce, and agriculture.
ZCTU has been at the forefront of the struggle for workers' rights, social justice, and democracy in Zimbabwe. We have successfully negotiated numerous Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) and have been instrumental in shaping labor legislation in Zimbabwe.
