The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions condemns the appalling xenophobic attacks directed against foreigners living and working in South Africa by clearly a group of criminals..
The attacks though a symptom of economic malaise and lack of job creation by South African authorities, should not be tolerated. The ZCTU calls upon the South African government to put in place practical policies that safeguard migrants and bring a lasting solution to the ever resurfacing xenophobic attacks.
THE Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) would like to express its shock and disgust over the production of a draft Labour Bill by the government in its attempt to hoodwink the ILO High level mission that was in Zimbabwe assessing the government’s implementation of the findings and recommendations of the 2009 ILO Commission of Inquiry that investigated serious violations of workers’ rights in Zimbabwe.

THE Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) is greatly disturbed by the apparent impasse in the labour dispute between the Government and striking doctors. The continued strike is causing untold suffering of ordinary Zimbabweans as it has paralyzed operations at state-run hospitals.
We note with concern that patients are being turned away from government hospitals as the few doctors who have remained at work are failing to cope.
